Diesel Prices in Belgium Drop Nearly 10 Cents After Record High
Diesel prices in Belgium are set to fall sharply on Thursday, dropping by 9.6 cents per liter to a maximum price of 2.405 euro per liter, according to new rates published by the Belgian Federal Public Service Economy.
The drop comes just one day after diesel prices in Belgium reached an absolute record high.
On Wednesday, the maximum price for diesel was still 2.501 euro per liter, surpassing the previous record set in April this year.
Oil Prices Are Falling
The decline in diesel prices comes as international oil prices continue to fall.
Oil prices are heading toward their longest losing streak in more than a year. News that Saudi Arabia is restarting a strategic pipeline, along with comments from U.S. President Donald Trump about “very good” talks with Iran, have put further pressure on oil prices.
The international Brent benchmark fell toward 98 dollars per barrel, marking its sixth consecutive day of declines. That would be its longest losing streak since August 2025.
U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude also fell, moving toward 89 dollars per barrel.
Despite the recent decline, oil prices remain around 60 percent higher than before the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran. The prolonged increase in energy costs continues to put pressure on inflation
