Moroccan Authorities Arrest Messi in Marrakech
Moroccan authorities have arrested a man known by the nickname “Big Messi” in the Marrakech area, after he was allegedly involved in drug possession and trafficking as well as armed robberies, according to local Moroccan media reports.
Police Arrest Man Known as “Big Messi”
Members of the Moroccan Royal Gendarmerie at the Tameslohte center in the Marrakech area reportedly brought the suspect before the public prosecutor at the Court of Appeal in Marrakech, where he faces allegations related to drug possession, drug trafficking and armed robbery.
Local media reports identified the suspect by the nickname “Big Messi,” and said that six national arrest and wanted notices had reportedly been issued against him in connection with the cases.
Suspect Tried to Escape
The arrest reportedly came after Royal Gendarmerie officers carried out a search and investigation operation in Tameslohte, as part of efforts to locate the wanted suspect.
According to the reports, the man attempted to escape when security officers approached him, but the officers were able to surround him and prevent him from getting away before arresting him.
During the operation, authorities reportedly searched the suspect and found that he was carrying forged identification documents, according to local media reports.
The suspect, who has been nicknamed “Big Messi” in Moroccan media, is now facing legal proceedings and could receive a prison sentence if convicted of the charges against him.
