King Philippe to Meet Ukraine’s Zelensky in Brussels

Belgian King Philippe will meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the Royal Palace in Brussels on Thursday, October 15. The palace announced the visit on Wednesday.

Zelensky is expected to arrive at around 4 p.m. for an official audience with the king. The palace has not yet revealed the purpose of the visit.

Zelensky and King Philippe Have Met Before

This will not be their first meeting. King Philippe has previously received Zelensky at the Royal Palace on February 9, 2023, May 28, 2024, and March 6, 2025.

The two also met at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2024.

In June, Zelensky visited the palace for a working lunch with the king. That meeting was not classified as an official audience.

What Will They Discuss?

The palace has not released details about Thursday’s agenda. It remains unclear which topics the two leaders will discuss.

The meeting comes as Ukraine continues to deal with the effects of Russia’s full-scale invasion, launched in February 2022. Belgium remains one of Ukraine’s European partners as discussions continue over the country’s security and future.

Further details may be released after the meeting.

Belgium Brief will update this report when more information becomes available.
